Parks And Wildlife Supporter news
Wetlands are our link between land and water. They provide homes for animals and havens for migratory birds especially in times of drought.
They reduce the severity of floods, cleanse our water systems and give us places of beauty envied around the world, such as Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.
Australia's magnificent wetlands are however declining at an alarming rate. Over fifty percent of our original wetlands have been lost or are threatened.
In this issue, PAWS explores the many different types of wetlands, from swamps and rivers to clay pans and lakes.
Discover the magic of our natural wetlands.
