Protecting Australia's Heritage

Australia is an ancient land with a heritage rich and full. Heritage conservation is therefore a deep field of endeavour. Our natural and cultural heritage helps us to understand what is significant about the land we inhabit. It is a precious inheritance available for our enjoyment.

Many things not commonly thought of as part of the heritage fabric of a nation are now being recognised and conserved for future generations to appreciate. Among these, personal stories provide some of the richest sources of knowledge in order to understand what makes us human and Australian.

Winter 2010 PAWS looks at our heritage, where we came from and our place in the order of nature. (2Mb)
