Sturt National Park

Saltbush of Sturt National Park

335 km north of Broken Hill, 400 km west of Bourke

Sturt National Park depicts the harsh beauty of the outback – vast open gibber plains broken by flat topped mesas, and red sand dunes covered with saltbush and shrubs. This is the land of the Red Kangaroo and the Wedge-tailed Eagle.

The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife acquired 187,899 hectares (Mount King Station) as the core of Sturt National Park, more than half of the total park area.
