Willandra National Park

Willandra National Park |
726 km west of Sydney, 64 km north-west of Hillston
The vast grass and saltbush plains of Willandra
National Park are broken by watercourses lined with black box and lignum, while quiet
billabongs are only disturbed by the calls of waterbirds.
The Willandra billabong
that “flows backwards” meanders through the old Willandra
Station with its dilapidated homestead and willow-lined lagoon.
The Foundation for
National Parks & Wildlife purchased the land (19,386 hectares) to
become one of the first national parks in the riverine plain of central
western NSW.
