TALKING PAWS

Dear Parks and Wildlife Supporter,

The sorry plight of our environment is never far from our minds whether we are urban or rural dwellers. Drought, fire, land degradation, urban sprawl, pollution and climate change are regular news topics.

In this PAWS Special Edition we look at ways how you can help protect our land.

We can all contribute to environmental maintenance and improvement. As an individual we can volunteer in parks or give financial support to projects .

This issue covers the generous bequest of Catherine White, a land donation for National Parks and the wonderful efforts of a local farmer to preserve native vegetation on his farm forever. There are gardening tips for property owners and a wealth of information on options to protect habitats on your land.

By creating and maintaining natural havens we are ensuring an enduring legacy for future generations. We are trying to fight against the imbalances created by human activities, the impact of which is still unknown.

Help us to defend endangered and threatened species and natural habitats. Enjoy this issue and help us spread the word by sharing this issue with your family, friends and colleagues.
