'My father and Uncle
were both Directors of the Foundation in its early days with Tom Lewis.
When I met Gillis Broinowski, the Foundation’s current President,
I expressed a keen interest to being involved myself. He invited me to
become involved in one of the committees.'

I joined
the Foundation because…
of my love of the outdoors and things natural.
Being a director
of the Foundation is…
a chance for me to make a real contribution to preserving some of the
natural flora and fauna of our state
As a Foundation
Director I most look forward to ...
seeing firm results from the projects we undertake and making people aware
of our parks and wildlife. As a Director and being involved in the Projects
Committee I am particularly interested that our funds are correctly and
wisely spent and would like to think that I will be able to see some of
the projects first hand as I had the opportunity with Green Gully last
year.
For me the
most urgent conservation issue in Australia is …
water, its use, its availability, its pollution and salt problems and
the effect this is having on our environment, waterways etc.
My vision
for the Foundation is…
to continue as it is in helping in its own way from the smaller projects
like Mother of Ducks or Superb Parrot Breeding Study projects to the medium
sized Rat eradication project for Lord Howe Island to the more ambitious
projects like Green Gully and the Catherine White Legacy for Morton National
Park.
